We start the tour at deck one where we find the Bridge, Captain's Ready Room and the Briefing Room.

The Bridge
The Bridge is the main command center on Voyager. The bridge, which is manned by the senior officer of each department, can be considered the nerve-center of the starship.

The Ready Room
captain's ready room
Click here to go to Kathryn janeway's starfleet personnel file This is Janeway's office, where she spends her time when on duty but not needed on the bridge. The Captain's ready room is situated on the starboard of the Main Bridge

This is also where Janeway meets with individual crewmembers, does most of her research and paper work as well as deal with classified material. The room includes a desk, a small table, a couch, three windows and a replicator.

The Bridge
briefing room
This is where the senior officers meet for staff briefings, conferences or negotiations with alien representatives. The briefing room is situated on the port side of the bridge.
Other crewmembers are sometimes invited to these gatherings if they have something vital to share with the rest of the crew. Seven of Nine and Neelix are always invited to these meetings even though they have no formal starfleet rank.

Let's get into the turbo lift and move on to deck 2 where we find the mess hall.

The Mess hall
Click here to go to Neelix's starfleet personnel file Neelix built a galley in the captain's private dining room when he boarded Voyager.
the messhall

Neelix provided food for the crew until he left the ship to live among other Talaxians in episode Homestead. He often prepared his food using vegetables from the airponics bay and various ingredients obtained during away missions.

Crewman Chell took over Neelix' job in the messhall after he left the ship. He suggested a menu including the dish Red Alert Chili. All crewmembers receive a certain amount of replicator rations but they are instructed to eat in the mess hall to preserve the ship's power supply. When a crewmember has finished his or her replicator rations, he or she can't use the replicator until new rations have been delivered.

After having had some of Neelix' Leola Root Stew in the mess hall we move on to deck 4 where we find Sickbay and the EMH.

The Sickbay
Click here to go to the EMH starfleet personnel file The Emergency Medical Hologram, also known as the EMH, or the doctor, is the chief medical officer on Voyager.
the sickbay

Sickbay is responsible for analyzing new life forms, developing treatments for unknown diseases and to care for wounded crewmembers. The doctor sometimes uses the mess hall as an auxilliary sickbay since sickbay is too small to handle a heavy patient load.
Kes was the Doctor's medic until she left the ship in 2374 to explore her mental powers. Tom Paris took over the job as the doctor's medic in episode Revulsion. He has been a part time pilot and a part time medic since then.
the sickbay
Biobeds, which are mainly used for patients under intensive care or in recovery, line the walls of sickbay. There is also a more advanced primary biobed which is used for surgery, life support or medical examinations.
Sickbay is the only area of the ship that is equipped with holographic emitters (except for the holodecks) which is why the doctor couldn't leave sickbay until he received his mobile emitter in episode Future's end.

As the doctor insisted that we'd see his slideshow about Bolian glands we move on to deck 6 where we find holodeck 1 and 2.

Holodeck 1 and 2
The holodeck uses technology that combines transporter, replicator, and holographic systems. Holo Emitters projects the holoprogram, which is a holographic senario, programmed to simulate an environment based on real or fictional parameters. The holodeck can create both holographic props and characters.
the holodeck
The vessel's two holodecks are used for personal R&R for the crew as well as for simulations when they have to prepare, test or practice on something without risking anybody's lives or loose any equipment.
Every crewmember has holodeck privileges and when they have used a certain amount of rations they will have to wait until new ones are handed out. The holodecks have safety protocols to make sure that nobody gets hurt during the program. They can be disabled but you might be injured if you use that option.

Let's go back to the turbolift and move on to the Astrometrics lab on deck 8, where Seven of Nine is stationed.

The Astrometrics lab
astrometrics lab
Click here to go to Seven's starfleet personnel file Astrometrics is run by Seven of Nine and maps out stars and other stellar objects. This is from where Voyager communicates with earth and studies anomalies and other stellar phenomena.
The main control panel facing the screen and the three workstations on the side wall are used to control the lab's functions and the screen. Harry Kim and Seven of Nine constructed the lab in 2374. They used Borg technology to upgrade some of the Federation technology.

Our next stop will be deck 11, where we'll find Main Engineering and the warp core.

Main Engineering
Click here to go to B'Elanna Torres starfleet personnel file Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres is chief of engineering at USS Voyager and commands the people of main engineering, Lt. Carey is second in command. Main engineering can be considered to be the heart of a starship.

the warp core
Main engineering controls Voyager's main power systems such as the warp drive and impulse drive. They also take care of the gel packs, holodecks, the emh, the mobile emitter and other technical issues.
The Warp core is the energy source that allows Voyager to go to warp - it generates energy through a reaction between Matter and Anti-Matter. Voyager would not be able to go faster than impulse speed if they lost the core. Warp drive operates by creating a stable warp field around the ship. By maintaining a continuous matter-antimatter reaction, the ship can maintain the warp field indefinitely, but the field will collapse within 4 seconds if the antimatter reaction stops.
Main engineering
Voyager has a system that recycles the warp core's anti-matter waste. Some species like the Malons do not have that technology and has resorted to dump their radioactive waste in remote parts of the galaxy.
If the core breaches, the ship and everything in the vicinity will be destroyed. Voyager can choose to eject the warp core to prevent disaster. This option has been used at some occasions for instance in episode Day of Honour when the core was about to breach. The Cataati used Voyager's predicament to attempt to steal the core in exchange for their vessel and its resources.

Warp Engine Specifications
Warp Reactor M/ARA Mark II
Normal Cruise Speed Warp 6
Max Cruise Speed Warp 9.975

Fuel (anti-matter) Anti-Deuterium

The turbolifts are quick and reliable means of transportation but there are faster ways to travel within and outside the ship.
Turbo lifts and transporters
TURBOLIFTS
Voyager's four turbolifts transport the crew between the 15 decks.

TRANSPORTERS
If you are in a hurry you can use the site to site transporters to move people or objects in a matter of seconds. This option is often used to transport injured people to sickbay. The transporter rooms are situated on deck 4.
